FATAL FLOWERS - YOUNGER DAYS (1986) [Vinyl Rip]

Fatal Flowers were an OUTSTANDING Dutch Rock band who seemed out of place in the mid-'80's. When everyone else sounded like The Cure, Fatal Flowers sounded like Dr. Feelgood. Down home Blues Rock at it's finest. Younger Days was the first full album from the band (an EP was released in 1985) and the production duties were handled by the great Vic Maile. Vocalist/Guitarist Richard Janssen sings like a man possessed on Younger Days and you will be immediately drawn into it's spell. Sweet vinyl rip, too.

Enjoy!

I ripped this from the original Atlantic Records promo LP at 320 vbr.

THE GOLDEN PALOMINOS - BLAST OF SILENCE (1986)

Blast Of Silence is the 1986 offering from Anton Fier's revolving super group, The Golden Palominos. Joined by heavy hitters like Matthew Sweet, Jack Bruce, Syd Straw, Chris Stamey, Bill Laswell and others and covering tunes by Lowell George and Peter Holsapple along with some stellar originals, Blast Of Silence is an essential slice of weird country rock. This is the original Celluloid Records release, which is long out-of-print. The CD was re-released in the late '90's, but that release is also...history.

Enjoy!

THE DAVE CLARK FIVE - THE HISTORY OF THE DAVE CLARK FIVE (1993) [2 Discs]

For awhile, the Dave Clark Five were The Beatles chief competition in the Pop Music charts. Sure, John, Paul, George and Ringo ended up absolutely destroying The DC5, but they pretty much destroyed everybody. Be that as it may, the DC5 had a ton of hits, including Glad All Over, Because, Bits And Pieces, Over And Over, Can't You See That She's Mine, I Like It Like That and many more memorable tunes. This 50 track (!) 2 disc collection is now very rare and fetches some very high prices on e-bay and elsewhere. Someday, it is sure to be re-released, but until then....

Enjoy!

I ripped both OOP print, original discs at 192 vbr.

THE BRISTOL RECORDER 2 (1981) [Various Artists / Cassette Rip]

Super rare French LP/Magazine that I don't actually own. I recorded my friend Greg's LP onto cassette back in 1988 and ripped that cassette to a more useful form yesterday. Now for the music..... 3 hard-to-find live Peter Gabriel tracks, 3 tracks from Fish Food (singer sounds like a more desperate Mick Lynch of Stump fame,) 3 tracks from the phenomenal dub crazy Radicals, 2 from Post-Punk weirdos, The X-Certs and 1 track from popsters, The Welders. Thanks to my friend Felix for the cover photo and a ton of excellent information.

Enjoy!

BOBBY FULLER - SHAKEDOWN! THE TEXAS TAPES REVISITED (1996) [2 Discs]

Bobby Fuller was a Texas-born, Buddy Holly-influenced rocker, who died a very, very strange death, at the tender age of 23. Bobby and his band, The Bobby Fuller Four, were only beginning to enjoy the success that his cover of the Buddy Holly classic, I Fought The Law, had provided. His death ended a very promising music career early and the 2 CD Shakedown! The Texas Tapes Revisited is going to make you an immediate fan. Filled with blistering singles, B-sides and alternate takes, Shakedown! is a tremendous introduction to this should-have-been legend.

Enjoy!

DINOSAURUS! ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK (1960)

From allmusic.com: "The 1960 B-movie Dinosaurus! was in many respects a precursor to 1993's Jurassic Park — in both films, prehistoric monsters wreak havoc on present-day humanity — so it makes sense that Ronald Stein's wonderfully over the top score would anticipate the bombast and brass employed by composer John Williams three decades later. Stein's dynamic, widescale melodies effectively establish the drama and adventure otherwise lacking from the low-budget onscreen fantasy, and his arrangements do a wonderful job of supplying the film's creatures with distinct personalities — low, ominous horns signify the T-Rex, bloated tubas represent the brontosaurus, and puzzled woodwinds embellish star Gregg Martell's unfrozen caveman. Percepto's 2006 reissue is a gem — the sound is excellent, and the lavish package includes a 16-page booklet stuffed with photos and information."

Yep, this is the 2006 remaster of this B-movie classic and it's INCREDIBLE!
